Kalari - Hindu Martial Art Series

Kalaripayattu - Founder is belived to be Sage Parasurama- the master of martial art forms and credited to be the re-claimer of Kerala from the Indian Ocean. Kalaripayattu originated in ancient South India. Kung- fu, popularized by the monks of the Shoaling Temple traces its ancestry to Bodhi Dharma - an Indian Buddhist monk and Kalaripayattu master.
Kalari, Ghatka, Silambam, Marma - these are words you will not hear in Indian schools.
The martial art techniques developed by Hindus over 1000s of years do survive in east asia in places like China. Not many are aware that the first teachers at China's shaolin school were Indians. Among other subjects like Buddhism, ancient Hindus taught martial arts techniques to chinese.
