2009 EUSA Convention

When to start with savate competitions in EUSA? Big question for our savate international federation.

The 2009 EUSA Convention was organized from November 6th to 8th, 2009 in

Ljubljana, Slovenia. The aim of the convention was to give information and support to the organizers of the European Universities Championships (EUC) and to present them the new information system that will be in use from 2010 onwards.

The Convention was held in the main building of the University of Ljubljana. The EUSA President, Mr. Alberto Gualtieri welcomed 45 participants, the representatives from Organizing Committees of the 2010 EUC and the EUSA Technical Delegates.

During the Convention the representatives of EUSA, Mr. Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General and Mr. Adam Roczek, Sports Manager, gave a general briefing on the terms and conditions as well as on examples for best practice of organization of the European Universities Championships.

Mr. Haris Pavletic, the EUSA Medical Commission Chairman presented the Medical Regulations and Ms. Karolina Rohan, the EUSA Student Commission Vice-Chairwoman presented the Student Volunteer Program.

The main session concluded with the presentation of the new EUSA Information System. Mr. Gasper Markic from DSpot explained to the participants all the details on the project that includes the new EUSA Website, Internal Area, EUSA Community, On-line registration to the EUSA Events and to the Volunteer Program and Event management. The project, supported by FISU, is a big improvement in the management of the association and its events and was positively welcomed by all the participants.

The Convention continued with the presentation of the championships that will be held next year and continued with working sessions between the Technical Delegates and the representatives of the Organizing Committees of their respective sport in order to check all details of the organization.

The Convention concluded with the Technical Committee and Medical Commission Meetings.
